HSH’s supportive therapeutic environment helps participants attain increased independence, self-confidence, empathy, improved concentration, presence, and personal success through their connections with staff and horses. Our participants describe significant reductions in anxiety, depression, anger, and estrangement from family members, along with improvements in their physical health. For those with impaired mobility, HSH has created a variety of creative interventions, including horse drawn carts, to make the benefits of the horse/human connection accessible to all.
